On a bookshelf in north central Florida, near the Ichetucknee River

A wooden bookshelf filled with various books, including 'Lucy, go see' by Marcyne Mail, 'Women in Love' by D.H. Lawrence, and 'The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows', among others. There are also notebooks and papers on the shelf.

“Though I love to savor good writing, by the time Lucy landed in Osaka, the plot rather swept me off my feet and I didn’t touch down until that tiny plane lifted Lucy “above the rolling hills, gleaming white.”

Not that I didn’t pause every chapter or two to reflect on how the book made me think about my own life. so many parallels it’s uncanny, for I too have been a pilgrim in search of enlightenment, lived and worked in many a foreign country, including Japan, places that, in retrospect, still feel like home. I too also  realized that […] though we need to be free we cannot live alone. We must, as your book insists, be independently interdependent, so to speak. Or as I would say, live, love and do good work!”

What a delight to know Lucy is in such good company.

Check out this reader’s amazing work.
