« I find explanations to be a huge waste of time. » – Marianne Maili

As we walked up to the Griffith Observatory this morning, I said this above, “I find explantions to be a huge waste of time”, to a new friend, Alexandra.

“Wow,” she said, stopping on the dusty trail. “That’s a great sentence. It should be written big on a t-shirt or something.”

For the meantime, I decided to write it here.

We were also stopped in our tracks by this bougainvillea growing high into the redwoods. I think this one is a redwood. Maybe not. I have so much to learn.

Standing under, looking up. Climb the bougainvillea into the sky, I say. “If I were a squirrel, that is what I would do,” Alexandra said.
